today the light along the lake kept me briefly in it's spell. i had a touch of spring fever. the day was warm and foggy and april-like. and i kept finding reasons to leave the studio on little missions. which isn't normally the way i work. i'm happiest at work, finishing project after project, knowing that tom or one of my amazing friends will come by with coffee or a bagel and a few minutes to visit. but today i was flitting around town banking and shopping and shipping and enjoying the energy of the day. but i did finally settle in and get quilt tops finished. and tonight, i'm exhausted, not sure that i'm writing coherently, but i needed to put some words down before i slept.

  1. I love that sentence - the lake kept me briefly in it's spell - it sounds as if you became a butterfly for a time flitting around town - is it all of that beautiful butterfly collage work you have been doing?

  2. I can't wait for these days when the energy of early spring takes over. will be a while over here. but today it's quite mild, the snow is melting, and the sun is out. I might go and flit around, too :)

  3. The glimpses of Spring call us outdoors; it's in the blood, this call of springtime.

  5. Beautiful photo! Isn't it nice that this February brings us weather that is warmer, more springlike. It takes the bit out of winter.

Glad you were able to enjoy the day!

  6. I know what you mean. I feel the same. It is still winter here, there is snow but the days become longer and the light is different. It makes me want to open the windows, breathe the air. The energy of spring has definitely arrived. Mr. Winter has no chance...
